Project brief  – To replace existing run down conservatory structure with one that was more in keeping with the existing listed building. Open up the existing kitchen into the new structure to create an open dining area.
The brief for this project was clear and concise. We approached the conservation officer at Exeter District Council to discuss the restraints that the listed aspect of the project would throw up. Once these had been taken into account the design process began.
David Salisbury Ltd were the client’s choice of conservatory manufacturer and through liaising with David Salisbury Ltd we were able to come up with a scheme that was both practical and within our client’s budget, as well as satisfying the local authority’s conservation officer and the local parish council.
The result was a hardwood conservatory which incorporated aspects of the listed building thus giving a feeling of continuity to the property. The newly opened up kitchen also gave a great feeling of space and gave the owners a large family room in which to dine and view the gardens all year round.
